Daily Care

Try to get into a particular routine where you check the food and water levels, especially the water levels as this is very important if you want a lot of eggs. In Winter when checking the water levels in the drinker check to see whether the drinker is frozen. Just because you can see that there is water in the drinker doesn't mean that they can get to it.

On a general note, try and not to use straw as a bedding in the nesting box as straw is hollow which makes it a potential hiding place for red mite, which is a blood sucking parasite which feed of your hens at night.
