Warrens

Warrens are a bred from a Rhode Island Red and a Light Sussex and they have been growing in popularity over the recent decades this is not only due to amount of egg's this breed can produce, but also due to their friendly and docile nature.

There are many names associated with the Warren for instance, Gingernut Ranger, Hylines, Gold Lines and Lohmans, but they all are bred from the same breeds (Rhode Island Red and a Light Sussex). Warren can lay up to 300 eggs in there first year and can be increased if artificial lights are used through-out winter, but we highly disagree with the use of artificial lights as this can stunt the egg production of the hens dramatically later on in life.

As previously mentioned Warrens lay a beige coloured egg, here is a picture of a egg from a Warren.
