Question: Will the different breeds get along?

Answer: In a nutshell yes, If they have already been living together in a open space (like how we keep our chickens) they shouldn't have any problems getting along. Although if you introduce another chicken into the flock the pecking order has to be re-established.

Question: Do I need a cockerel for my chickens to lay?

Answer: No, chickens will lay eggs with or without a cockerel in their flock

Question: Will a cat kill my chickens?

Answer: It's very rare that a cat will kill a chicken, infact cats are more scared of chickens, than the chickens are scared of the cat.

Question: How long do chickens live for?

Answer: The average life span for a chicken is approximately 7 years.

Question: Can chickens fly?

Answer: Chickens can fly, but not to the extent of a bird, they may be able to fly over a fence, but if you clip their wings this will restrict their flight to only a few feet.
