Ex-Battery Hens

Status: unavailable

Ex-battery hens, or ex-commercial layers, would normally be put into the food chain at around 60-70 weeks old. So if you are thinking about getting some POL hens it might be worth wild getting one or two ex-battery hens as well! Not only will you be saving the lives of the hens they will also make a great addition to the family.

Egg wise, you will get eggs off your new hens for the first few days, but they slow down laying for a bit while they get used to their new surroundings.

The appearance of the hens does vary from hen to hen, some may have more feathers than the other.
